WHAT YOU DO
I do a bit of modelling. Music is my main thing, though. I sing in my band Tella Viv.
WHAT IS MUSIC TO YOU?
Music reflects everything I see and think about. Everything that happens in my life becomes consciously and unconsciously a piece of music.
WHEN DID YOU FIRST REALIZE THAT MUSIC MAKES THE WORLD MORE INTERESTING?
One of my first larger-than-life moments was when my dad gave me a disco anthology album that featured ”Funky Town” by Lipps Inc. I listened to it on my Walkman and was amazed by how the different instruments worked together. Later on a friend taught me the chords to Ramones’ ”Blietzkrieg Bop”. I realized then that it wasn’t impossible to learn how to play.
WHAT SOUNDS DO YOU FIND THE MOST INTRIGUING?
Trumpet is the musical sound that gives me the most intense goose bumbs. Trumpet used in everything from jazz to house. Of non-musical sounds I especially like the klick you get when you open a Zippo lighter, the sound of a squash ball hitting a wall and the rattling of a letter box on a Friday afternoon that announces that a new issue of Donald Duck has arrived in the mail.
WHAT DO YOU WANT YOUR BAND’S NEXT SONG TO SOUND LIKE?
I just hope that it will be something that takes me by surprise.
