NAME
SARAH-SOFIE BOUSSNINA.

SHOT AT
MY FRIEND JULIA HVIDTVEDS ATELIER IN COPENHAGEN.

WHAT YOU DO
I’M AN ACTOR.

HOW DID YOU GET INTO ACTING?
I STARTED DOING THEATRE WHEN I WAS VERY YOUNG. I’VE ALWAYS LOVED TELLING STORIES. ONE DAY I READ ABOUT AN OPEN CASTING IN COPENHAGEN, SO I DECIDED TO GIVE IT A TRY. UNFORTUNATELY, I DIDN’T GET THE PART, BUT THE CASTING DIRECTOR REMEMBERED ME, AND ABOUT SIX MONTHS LATER, SHE GAVE ME MY FIRST JOB. I WAS 16 AT THE TIME.

WHAT WAS YOUR ROLE IN THAT FIRST ACTING JOB?
I PLAYED THIS YOUNG GIRL IN A DANISH TV SERIES. SHE HAD LOST HER PARENTS REALLY YOUNG AND LIVED WITH HER OLDER SIBLINGS. SHE GOES FROM BEING VERY INNOCENT TO FALLING IN LOVE WITH A MUCH OLDER GUY.

WHICH ROLE SO FAR HAS BEEN THE HARDEST?
EVERY CHARACTER I’VE PLAYED HAS BEEN A CHALLENGE, THAT’S HOW I LIKE IT BEST. BUT I THINK THE ROLE I PLAYED IN THE ABSENT ONE WAS THE HARDEST – IN A GOOD WAY, BECAUSE I LEARNED SO MUCH DOING THAT FILM.

WHAT’S MOST SATISFYING WITH BEING AN ACTOR?
FOR ME IT’S GETTING TO SEE THE WORLD THROUGH DIFFERENT CHARACTERS. CREATING REAL MOMENTS IN A PARALLEL UNIVERSE. LEARNING ABOUT PEOPLE.

ASIDE FROM ACTING, HOW DO YOU EXPRESS YOURSELF CREATIVELY?
I LOVE WRITING STORIES AND POEMS – AND FASHION, I LOVE FASHION. I LOVE EXPERIMENTING WITH STYLE AND COLOURFUL CLOTHING. IT MAKES ME SO HAPPY.

WHO IS YOUR STYLE ICON?
I DON’T HAVE ANY SPECIFIC STYLE ICONS. I GET INSPIRED BY A LOT OF PEOPLE, BUT I LOVE THE STYLE OF BELLA HADID, I THINK IT’S VERY MODERN, COOL AND FUN. I LIKE THE STYLE OF JEANNE DAMAS TOO, BUT AGAIN I REALLY DO GET INSPIRED BY JUST EVERYONE AROUND ME.

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST SUPERSTITION?
SPIRITS! I TRULY BELIEVE THEY ARE AROUND US AT ALL TIME.
