SUSTAINABILITY
At JEANERICA, our design and brand ethos are grounded in the use of carefully selected materials, including a growing share of certified organic cotton and recycled fibers. We work closely with manufacturing partners who share our commitment to quality denim craftsmanship.
We collaborate with a small number of long-term partners in Europe and Turkey. The most relevant are regularly audited according to Amfori BSCI, SMETA, or SA8000 standards, ensuring fair, safe, and ethical working conditions.
Our collections are designed to transcend trends, offering understated denim that highlights individual style and remains relevant across seasons. We are committed to increasing the use of certified materials. Our Material Matrix classifies fabrics into three categories: preferred, transitional, and to be phased out, and is updated each season based on the latest independent research.

Approximately 85% of the styles from the current AW25 collection are made with preferred materials, including:
- Organic Cotton: Used in many of our denim and jersey styles, our certified organic cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, or GMOs.
- Recycled Cotton: Both pre- and post-consumer recycled cotton fibers are used in our denim fabrics to reduce dependence on virgin cotton.
- Recycled Polyester: Sourced from textile and plastic waste streams. We do not use virgin polyester, reducing reliance on fossil-based resources.
- Viscose: We primarily use LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibers, produced from certified renewable wood sources using methods with significantly lower emissions and water use compared to conventional viscose.
Our denim production follows strict chemical regulations aligned with EU REACH standards. We continuously refine our processes to reduce environmental impact.
Key initiatives include:
- Laser Finishing: Our preferred method for dry processing. It replaces manual scraping and eliminates hazardous chemicals such as potassium permanganate.
- Ozone Finishing: A water- and chemical-efficient process that uses ozone gas to create natural fading and bleaching effects.
- Renewable Energy: Our primary manufacturing partner uses rooftop solar panels to cover a large portion of annual electricity needs. The remainder is sourced from renewable providers.
