Deeply rooted in JEANERICA’S design and brand ethos is sustainability. We believe that for something to be perceived as relevant, modern and essential it should also be sustainable. Each collection is created in close partnership with producers and factories to cut out all unnecessary steps. By keeping everything in the same place; developing fabrics, cutting, sewing and washing we reduce transportation to the bare minimum. In production, we avoid harmful chemicals, non-organic cotton and overconsumption of water when washing and obtaining our products by modern and sustainable techniques such as laser and ozone finishes. Approximately 90% of our collections use organic cotton and recycled fabrics, delivering a wardrobe to be worn with a clean conscience.
MATERIALS
We value using environmentally friendly processes, especially in the finishing processes of our denim production. Aside the fibre production, these processes have a high impact on the environment with the major issues being water depletion, water pollution, toxicity of chemicals & energy consumption.
We use organic cotton in most of our denim and jersey, which is farmed without chemicals, pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, or GMO crops.
We recycle cotton from pre- and post-consumer waste.
Our recycled polyester is made from plastic or polyester textile waste and can be recycled more than once. Compared to virgin polyester, it uses less water, less energy, and has a significantly smaller carbon footprint.
Our badges are made from FSC-certified paper, and our metal buttons use a more sustainable plating process that uses ~90% less energy, ~70% less water, ~70% less wastage, and ~75% fewer chemicals.

We use laser as our preferred method for dry processes, as it doesnʼt use any chemicals and significantly reduces water usage. This process reduces the environmental impact and health risks to workers by replacing the manual process of scraping and applying potassium permanganate.
Our manufacturerʼs roofs are covered in solar panels, which allows us to harness ample sunlight and further reduce our reliance on outside sources. All energy not generated on-site comes from other renewable sources.
We use this technique for all our washed denim, which heavily reduces the usage of water and chemicals.
This sustainable washing technique harnesses the natural bleaching capabilities of ozone gas, contributing to unique bleaching effects with a low environmental impact.
DENIM CARE
We encourage our customers to wash their jeans sparingly to reduce the environmental impact of the product. We believe that jeans should be worn and aged like fine wine, and if they do break, we encourage customers to repair them instead of discarding them.
We recommend washing denim as infrequently as possible to maintain its shape and color. To go even longer without washing them, hang them outside to air overnight.
Instead of washing the entire garment, use a damp cloth or old toothbrush with mild soap to remove small stains.
Avoid using a dryer, as it can damage the fabric and cause shrinkage or warping. Instead, hang them up or line-dry them, which preserves the fit and helps avoid possible shrinkage or fabric warping. Turning jeans inside out and hanging them in a shady space also prevents fading and avoids soggy pockets.
Machine wash denim at 30°C (90°F), delicate cycle, no spin cycle, and preferably inside out. Avoid overfilling the machine to prevent cracking marks on the denim.
